![]() Side panels butt-blocked together. Deck screws are used to clamp butt block to hull panels. Screws go through 1" square pieces of MDO to keep the screw heads from indenting butt blocks. After curing, screws and blocks are removed and holes filled with epoxy putty using a syringe. |
![]() Side panels are then flipped over, ready for two layers of biaxial tape. (Prior to butt blocking, a power plane was used to remove the paper layer on the ends of each side panel piece. This allows the tape to be slightly inset, reducing the amount of fairing needed.) After flipping, a power plane is used to make an additional inset for the first, narrower piece of tape. |
